Retired athlete representing Jamaica and an Olympian representing Canada in athletics.

I have always been dedicated to supporting others struggling with severe life challenges, often changing how they view themselves and the world around them. Helping others on their healing journey is one of my greatest passions. It is one of the driving forces that has formed my commitment to mental health for over 19 years. My involvement was fostering clients in youth detention settings, residential programs, various school boards, and coaching athletes.

In addition, I have gained experience as an athlete rep, competing as an athlete, public speaking, representing sponsors, and encouraging health and nutrition. My experience in mental health is but not limited to working with clients on the spectrum of Autism, brain injuries, and various mental health-related concerns by providing strategies that will help to strengthen their perception of themselves.

I am committed to offering a safe space for others to bring their authentic selves. I am motivated to see the impact my gifts of attention, love, support, smile, and laughter have on others in providing a brighter outlook. I am passionate about helping others reach their potential by addressing the impact of intergenerational trauma and applying culturally sensitive approaches to increase one’s awareness of behaviors.

As a Caribbean female service provider, I am well-positioned to support the BIPOC communities. Given my understanding of the similar trauma these communities have and continue to experience.

I take a trauma-informed approach supported by the practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dilectual Behavioral Therapy (DBT), holistic, spiritual traditions, and Solution Focus Brief Therapy (SFBT) to bring individuals back on their wellness journey.

My educational background includes a B.A. in Sociology from St Augustine University in North Carolina, a Master’s in Counseling in Psychology from the University of New Brunswick, and a Rehabilitation Counselor certification from Seneca College.
